Denarau Island, Fiji (4 October 2022) – Club Wyndham Denarau Island in Fiji has appointed Georges Najm as its new Executive Chef and Amlesh Kumar as Food and Beverage (F&B) Director.

Club Wyndham Denarau Island is a family-friendly beachside resort offering spacious self-contained accommodation, including one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. The resort has outstanding facilities including onsite restaurants, a gym, a large lagoon-style swimming pool, an outdoor spa, a swim-up pool bar, a kids’ club, and direct beach access. The resort is part of the Club Wyndham South Pacific collection, the region’s largest vacation club with close to 60,000 members, and is one of the club’s most popular resorts.

As the new executive chef, Najm will be leading the resort’s culinary team. He began his career in Lebanon, his home country, and further developed his skills in upscale restaurants and hotels in Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. He recently worked as Executive Chef at Radisson Blue Resort Fiji, administering the hotel’s Italian, Thai and Lebanese restaurants. 

Meanwhile, Kumar brings 16 years of experience in F&B and hotel operations.  He will be managing all F&B outlets at the resort to deliver excellent guest experiences. Kumar has spent many years working in five-star hotels and resorts in Fiji and had his international experience in the Philippines as Assistant F&B Director at Shangri-La Mactan. He then returned to his home country, Fiji, to work as Director of Events Planning at Sheraton Fiji Resort.

The resort offers a range of dining facilities for club members and guests, including The Beach Shack Bar and Grill, which serves Fijian and European specialties and hosts theme nights and entertainment weekly such as Taste of Fiji, Bollywood, Wok ‘N’ Roll plus Seafood and Jazz. Dua Tale, which features a swim-up bar in the lagoon-style pool and the Latte Lounge, an onsite café offering freshly barista coffee, cakes, pastries and pies. Along with Mamacita’s Mexican Bar & Restaurant, which brings the flavours of Mexico to Denarau Island and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
