Denarau Island, Fiji (11 June 2024) – The team at Club Wyndham Denarau Island has disposed of a staggering 267 kilograms of litter from Wailoaloa Beach in a cleanup, as part of its ongoing mission to keep this stretch of beach clean in partnership with the Nadi Town Council.

This initiative, which began in 2023, reflects the resort’s commitment to responsible tourism and its dedication to preserving Fiji’s beautiful natural environment. A dedicated team of 16 staff conducted the recent clean-up and collected rubbish like empty water bottles, used diapers, food packaging, old clothes, and various other debris. The Nadi Town Council then transported the collected rubbish to a designated landfill site.

“At Club Wyndham Denarau Island, we are privileged to introduce our guests to one of the South Pacific’s most beautiful locations and we are passionate about responsibly stewarding this stunning environment for our guests and future generations. We are committed to sustainable practices and are proud of our team’s dedication to keeping this part of Fiji pristine for our guests and the local community to enjoy,” said William Work, General Manager of Club Wyndham Denarau Island.

“Partnering with the Nadi Town Council on this annual cleanup allows us to make a significant contribution to the health of Wailoaloa Beach and the wider Denarau area,” he added.

Wailoaloa Beach is a popular destination for both tourists and locals. Maintaining the beach’s cleanliness is vital for the health of the marine ecosystem.
