Phuket, Thailand (24 November 2025) – Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay has been recognised as one of the inaugural recipients of the prestigious Trusted Thailand recognition, a new program launched by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to certify and promote high-quality, trustworthy tourism operators.
The resort was among the select 132 successful applicants chosen from 1,637 submissions in the program’s highly competitive first round. Trusted Thailand certification evaluates tourism-related businesses such as hotels, restaurants, attractions, and shopping centres based on four key pillars:
- General Site Safety: Robust measures including visible CCTV, emergency response systems, and disaster preparedness.
- Secure Financial Transactions: Integration of recognised payment systems and transparent financial practices.
- Foreign-Language Communication and Visitor Care: Ensuring staff proficiency and support is readily available for international guests.
- Safe Access and Mobility: Clear signage, efficient connections, and accessible facilities for safe travel.

The Trusted Thailand certification program aims to boost international traveller confidence and supports Thailand’s goal of achieving high tourism revenue by promoting safety, transparency, and quality in the tourism industry.
“In a competitive global market, this government-backed recognition is invaluable. For our guests, it’s a genuine vote of confidence about our quality and safety – and we can see the initiative helping travellers more easily navigate Thailand by providing assurances about the quality of local tourism operators,” said Dominic Egger, Director of Operations Thailand at Travel + Leisure Co. and General Manager of Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay.
The award was presented at a formal ceremony in Bangkok, attended by key officials including the Governor of TAT, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, and representatives of the Chinese Embassy –underlining the program’s importance both nationally and internationally. Mr Egger accepted the award alongside Pongsak Puakniem, Guest Experience and Quality Manager at Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay, who led the resort’s successful application to this program
“To be recognised among the very first recipients of the Trusted Thailand stamp is an honour and a clear validation of the hard work put in by our entire team,” added Egger.
Nestled on a cliff overlooking the Andaman Sea, Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay features 194 elegant non-smoking rooms and villas, many with private infinity pools offering sweeping sea views. The resort boasts a full-service spa and wellness centre, gym, and multiple dining options, including the award-winning Latitude 98 Restaurant. It is also part of Asia’s premier vacation club, Club Wyndham Asia, developed by Travel + Leisure Co., a leading leisure travel company providing more than six million holidays per year.
