MISSION BEACH, AUSTRALIA, 24 July 2025: Travel + Leisure Co. will begin a multi-million-dollar refurbishment of newly acquired property Club Wyndham Mission Beach as it becomes part of Club Wyndham South Pacific, one of the region’s leading vacation clubs.

The beachfront hotel’s 48 suites will be completely revamped by melporterdesign, with a design inspired by the natural beauty that defines Mission Beach: the vibrant marine life of the Great Barrier Reef, nearby Dunk Island, and the ancient UNESCO-listed Wet Tropics rainforest.

A fresh palette of aquamarine tones, coral-hued accents, and the crisp white of a surf break will set the mood for a refined yet relaxed escape for Club Wyndham South Pacific owners.

“We are not just refurbishing a resort, but elevating the guest experience,” said Warren Cullum, Senior Vice President Operations, Travel + Leisure Co. “This is a long-term investment in the future of Mission Beach, made on behalf of our close to 60,000 vacation owners, to ensure they enjoy the highest standards of comfort in one of the most stunning locations in the world.”

The new design vision will be carried across all 48 studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and loft-style apartments, with coral-inspired cushions, soft sandy textures, light timber finishes and open, breezy layouts, creating an environment that both soothes and uplifts. Common areas including the reception area, internal corridors, and gym will also be repainted and renovated in line with the new palette.

“We’re embracing the soul of this spectacular destination,” said Mel Porter, Founder and Creative Director of melporterdesign. “From the reef’s radiant blues to the warm orange corals and turquoise waters, our goal is to mirror the natural richness of Mission Beach in every space. Think flowing clean lines, natural materials, and spaces that breathe, offering guests a sensory escape from the everyday.”

This investment in quality and design is part of the Travel + Leisure Co. commitment to delivering exceptional stays for its Club Wyndham South Pacific owners across Australia and the South Pacific.

Coming alongside the $19 million Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation Project designed to establish the community as a coveted coastal retreat, this resort refurbishment will introduce more tourists to the wonders of the region. Club Wyndham resorts enjoy high occupancy year around and the refurbishment is expected to encourage more vacation owners to book – making the venture another example of Travel + Leisure Co. providing benefit to the communities where it operates.

Nestled between Cairns and Townsville, Mission Beach offers visitors direct access to the Great Barrier Reef, secluded beaches, and the World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics. From skydiving over the coast to hiking the Musgrave Trail, and from white-water rafting the Tully River to reef snorkelling without the crowds, the area promises an unforgettable escape for both thrill-seekers and those craving tranquillity.

With its enviable beachfront position, local charm and now a rejuvenated design, Club Wyndham Mission Beach is poised to become a premier destination in North Queensland’s tourism offering. The resort will remain open and operating throughout the renovation.

Travel + Leisure Co. oversees around 100 properties in the Asia Pacific region – 56 of them in Australia – and develops three shared ownership vacation clubs with more than 100,000 members: Club Wyndham South Pacific, Club Wyndham Asia, and Accor Vacation Club.
