DUNSBOROUGH, WA, AND PHILLIP ISLAND, VIC (25 JULY, 2024) – Leading vacation ownership club, Club Wyndham South Pacific, is proud to announce a partnership with renowned celebrity chef, Peter Kuruvita, which will see him hold four live cooking demonstrations for guests at Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island, Victoria, and Club Wyndham Dunsborough, Western Australia.

The two resorts are part of Club Wyndham South Pacific, a leading vacation club in the Asia Pacific region serving close to 60,000 members and featuring 54 properties across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Hawaii and Europe.

One of the club’s unique selling propositions to members is a “home away from home”, with spacious accommodation with multiple bedrooms and kitchen facilities giving families the opportunity to create scrumptious cuisine and lasting memories together. The overwhelming majority of club cottages at Ramada Phillip Island and apartments at Club Wyndham Dunsborough offer full kitchen facilities.

The presence of the iconic Chef Kuruvita is sure to inspire families to cook familiar favourites or experiment with local flavours using Club Wyndham’s new travel guides and gourmet maps, in the comfort of their own accommodation. Chef Kuruvita’s personal journey is heavily inspired by similar memories of cooking with his grandmother and aunties in their Colombo kitchen.

Across a storied career, Kuruvita has pioneered restaurants in Sydney, Fiji, and on his home of the Sunshine Coast, helmed five TV shows and written three cookbooks, including the iconic My Feast with Peter Kuruvita.

“To coincide with Peter’s visits, we are also launching a series of culinary-inspired travel guides and visitor maps to give our members insight into regional flavours they can adopt in their cooking, and the best food and beverage destinations in each region,” said Warren Cullum, Senior Vice President Operations at Travel + Leisure Co.

“Our partnership with Peter is designed to highlight the tastes of South Pacific and Sri Lankan cooking, enrich the experiences of our Club Wyndham South Pacific members and guests, and demonstrate the ability families have to create home-cooked wonders in their apartment-style accommodation. Our club members will be able to enter their own culinary creations into a competition to win a three-night getaway and an autographed copy of Chef Kuruvita’s cookbook,” Mr Cullum added.

Chef Kuruvita will hold the demonstrations and then dine with a select group of club owners and guests at Club Wyndham Phillip Island on July 29 and August 1, and at Club Wyndham Dunsborough on August 21 and August 23.

“I have been fortunate to travel extensively across my career and I love educating gastronomes in flavour, and helping emerging chefs expand their knowledge and sharpen their skills,” said Chef Kuruvita. “I am looking forward to partnering with Club Wyndham and meeting club members and resort guests, and instilling in them my passion for the South Pacific, Sri Lanka and sustainable cooking.”
