Denarau Island, Fiji (16 December 2024) – Club Wyndham Denarau Island teamed up with Fiji’s Ministry of Forestry to plant 2,500 mangroves at Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi. This initiative aims to boost coastal resilience and protect the region’s ecosystems.

The planting took place near Nadi International Airport and supports a government program. Mangrove propagules, sourced from Nakavika in Ba, were chosen to align with Fiji’s native biodiversity.

A total of 28 resort staff members and 15 Club Wyndham owners and guests, including an eight-year-old, joined the effort. Their contributions helped make a meaningful impact.

Mangroves play a vital role in coastal health. They act as natural barriers against storms, prevent erosion, and create habitats for marine and land species.

Earlier this year, Club Wyndham Denarau Island also partnered with the Nadi Town Council for a Wailoaloa Beach cleanup. The resort remains committed to preserving the region’s natural environment.
