Nadi, Fiji (5 June 2025) – Club Wyndham Denarau Island has funded a FJ$50,000 refurbishment project to upgrade the men’s ward washroom at Nadi Hospital, enhancing hygiene and accessibility for both patients and staff.

The recently concluded refurbishment involved constructing new partitions and interior walls, installing new plumbing, adding soundproof cubicles and toilets, and creating accessible washrooms specifically designed for patients in wheelchairs.

The project also included rewiring for new lighting and repainting both internal and external structural walls, ensuring a modern, clean, and welcoming environment. This initiative was made possible by the fundraising efforts of the resort philanthropic arm, Mai Yaloda, and generous donations from several Club Wyndham South Pacific members.

“This refurbishment is more than just an upgrade—it’s an important step toward creating a safer and more hygienic environment for patients and their families. By improving facilities and accessibility, we are supporting better hygiene practices, which are crucial in preventing the spread of infections within the healthcare facilities,” said William Work, General Manager at Club Wyndham Denarau Island.

The handover ceremony for the upgraded men’s ward washroom was attended by representatives from Club Wyndham Denarau Island, Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services Penioni Ravunawa, and Nadi Hospital staff members.

This refurbishment follows an earlier donation by Club Wyndham Denarau Island of a vital signs monitor to the hospital, as part of the resort’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities.
