Denarau Island, Fiji (4 October 2022) – Club Wyndham Denarau Island in Fiji has appointed Georges Najm as its new Executive Chef and Amlesh Kumar as Food and Beverage (F&B) Director.
Club Wyndham Denarau Island is a family-friendly beachside resort offering spacious self-contained accommodation, including one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. The resort has outstanding facilities including onsite restaurants, a gym, a large lagoon-style swimming pool, an outdoor spa, a swim-up pool bar, a kids’ club, and direct beach access. The resort is part of the Club Wyndham South Pacific collection, the region’s largest vacation club with close to 60,000 members, and is one of the club’s most popular resorts.

As the new executive chef, Najm will be leading the resort’s culinary team. He began his career in Lebanon, his home country, and further developed his skills in upscale restaurants and hotels in Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. He recently worked as Executive Chef at Radisson Blue Resort Fiji, administering the hotel’s Italian, Thai and Lebanese restaurants.
Meanwhile, Kumar brings 16 years of experience in F&B and hotel operations. He will be managing all F&B outlets at the resort to deliver excellent guest experiences. Kumar has spent many years working in five-star hotels and resorts in Fiji and had his international experience in the Philippines as Assistant F&B Director at Shangri-La Mactan. He then returned to his home country, Fiji, to work as Director of Events Planning at Sheraton Fiji Resort.

Tokyo, Japan (11 July 2022) – Wyndham Destinations Japan today announced the signing of an agreement to manage Wyndham Garden Sapporo Odori, making it the 2nd Wyndham Garden hotel to open in Japan following the opening of the 95-room Wyndham Garden Nagaizumi in 2020.

GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA (3 May 2022): Club Wyndham Normandy, a resort in France, which is part of the Club Wyndham South Pacific resort collection, has been providing accommodation to Ukrainian Refugees in partnership with Karma Refuge, a humanitarian initiative by Karma Group.
Over 100 refugee families have been provided temporary shelter at the resort since the initiative began at the start of March.
“Many Ukrainian citizens have been in desperate need of shelter after being displaced from their own homes. We are pleased that we have been able to help many men, women and children in need by providing temporary shelter at our Normandy resort,” said Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director, International Operations, Wyndham Destinations.
Club Wyndham Normandy has been accommodating the evacuees, together with the Karma Refuge Initiative, which has been coordinating the efforts to identify refugees in need, transport them to the resort and provide them with daily meals. GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA (11 MARCH 2022) — Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director of International Operations, Wyndham Destinations has been honoured for his visionary leadership amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. He has been named Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2022 GNEX Conference Perspective Magazine Awards, held in Las Vegas.
Wyndham Destinations is a division of Travel + Leisure Co. (TNL: NYSE) the world’s leading membership and leisure travel company. With offices on Australia’s Gold Coast, Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia and in Singapore, Barry leads the company’s growth outside of North America. He oversees three vacation clubs across Asia Pacific: Club Wyndham South Pacific, Club Wyndham Asia and the recently launched Innovative Holiday Club.
After expanding into Japan in 2019, the company is the largest timeshare operation outside of North America with resorts in 10 countries, close to 71,000 vacation club members and some 3,000 associates. It has a consumer finance portfolio in excess of AU$300 million, a full-service travel agency and a member benefit program that offers vacation exchange and discounts on big brand purchases. Barry was also recognised for his significant work in the social responsibility space, particularly his leadership in creating benchmarks with sustainable practices across the Wyndham Destinations resort network.

Considered one of the highest honours in the hospitality industry, the Perspective Magazine Awards recognises global companies and individuals for their achievements within the vacation industry over the past year. The 12th annual Perspective Magazine Awards was held at the Wynn in Las Vegas.
