CLARK, PHILIPPINES (24 January 2024) – Travel + Leisure Co. Global Support Services (Philippines) Inc. continues to support its local community by donating much-needed supplies to the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) in Lubao, Pampanga.

The RSCC is a 24-hour facility that provides protection and rehabilitation services through temporary residential care to homeless and exploited children, and those with special needs, such as children at risk and children who need alternative family care.

Employees at Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines office, organized a donation drive to collect baby and children’s clothes, toys, blankets, baby food, diapers, sugar, cooking oil, trays of eggs, and hygiene items.

“We believe in giving back to the community and we’re pleased to support the RSCC for the second time,” said Liam Crawley, President of Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines. “We appreciate all of our employees coming together, gathering donations, and making it a memorable day for the children.”

The office’s employees and leadership team, including Crawley; Debbie Sowden, Vice President for Consumer Finance – Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific; and Gloria Llamas, Director of Operations of Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines spent the day with the children, playing games, singing, dancing, and sharing food and loot bags.

The RSCC currently cares for 78 children including babies and toddlers, and the number continues to increase as the facility’s social workers rescue children from trafficking, exploitation, and abandonment.

“The support from private donors like Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines is a big help for the facility, our staff, and especially the children. The help they receive inspires the children to believe in a brighter future and to have hope,” said Lucrecia Cruz, Center Head of RSCC.

CLARK, PHILIPPINES (18 December 2023) – Travel + Leisure Co. Global Support Services (Philippines), Inc. employees successfully released more than 140 baby sea turtles to the sea in Bagac, Bataan, in partnership with the Pag-asa Pawikan Protection and Conservation Center (3P3C).

Over 50 employees in Clark recently joined 3P3C’s orientation on turtle conservation and the safe release of hatchlings, part of Travel + Leisure Co.’s Philippines’ Save the Turtles initiative.

“As a leader in the global leisure travel industry, Travel + Leisure Co. is committed to having a positive impact on the environment, promoting responsible tourism, and incorporating sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations,” said Liam Crawley, President of Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines.

“We are incredibly proud of our employees who actively volunteer for important causes like turtle conservation. This was our fourth time conducting a release, and it is inspiring to see the number of employees involved growing and the significant impact that our partnership with 3P3C has made,” added Crawley.

The team also adopted 30 turtle nests – each containing 40 to120 eggs – which involves employees committing to donate money to the organization to procure necessary items and supplies for patrolling the shores.

“Some of our colleagues based in other countries like Australia and the USA have also adopted the nests and even named them after their loved ones and friends,” shared Crawley.

Out of the seven sea turtle species in the world, five can be found in the Philippines. Three turtle species, including green, olive ridley, and hawksbill turtles, make the shores of Bagac their nesting sites. Hawksbill turtles are classified as critically endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List because of their low survival rates caused by poaching, rising sea levels, and natural predators.

The 3P3C is a community-based group of volunteers who patrol the shores of Bagac for turtle eggs, protect them from poachers, rescue injured turtles, and provide environmental education to the broader community.

CLARK, PHILIPPINES (25 October 2023) – Travel + Leisure Co. Global Support Services (Philippines), Inc. has taken a proactive step towards environmental conservation by initially planting 75 bamboo trees in Sitio Target, an Aeta community in Sapang Bato, Angeles City. This is part of the company’s ongoing project that has planted over 1,000 fruit trees in the community.

The initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts by various stakeholders to rehabilitate the 560-hectare Angeles watershed to maintain a sustainable water supply for Angeles City and the greater Metro Clark area.

Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines has partnered with the Aetas of Sitio Target and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources through its Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-PENRO) in Pampanga. DENR-PENRO provides Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines with tree seedlings that the company brings to various local communities for planting.

“Our parent company, Travel + Leisure Co., is committed to making a sustainable impact globally. And we are extending that commitment to the Philippines where we help improve the environment and support local communities in developing sustainable programs that deliver economic benefits,” said Liam Crawley, President of Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines.

The team has been planting fruit-bearing trees in the area for two years now to help provide another source of food and livelihood for the Aeta community. This year, the team has started planting bamboo trees in preparation for the typhoon season. The bamboo trees play a vital role in preventing soil erosion and controlling water overflow from nearby streams. This will protect the vegetables and fruit trees planted by the Aetas near the streams.

“We are immensely grateful to our executives and associates in Clark for their unwavering commitment to this initiative as they volunteer their time to support the local community,” added Crawley.

Globally, Travel + Leisure Co. aims to plant two million trees by 2025. The company planted 71,000 trees in 2022, totaling 1,854,055 trees planted to date in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation.

Travel + Leisure Co. Philippines, located in Clark Freeport Zone, serves as a global support center for business units of Travel + Leisure Co. The team of 700 associates provides operational, technical, and creative support to Travel + Leisure Co. offices and customers worldwide.
