GOLD COAST, QUEENSLAND (SEPTEMBER 21, 2022): Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific’s Consumer Finance team has been named the “Credit Team of the Year” at the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM) Awards.

The company’s 67-person Consumer Finance team manages a portfolio of close to $250 million in consumer loans and the levy budget for Club Wyndham South Pacific, one of the region’s leading timeshare clubs with close to 60,000 members.

“Our members live across Asia Pacific and our Consumer Finance team spans five countries in the region – crossing borders, languages, and cultures. Our team leaders work tirelessly to create a culture where all team members feel supported, engaged, and inspired to perform at their best,” said Chief Financial Officer, Liam Crawley.

“Despite the distance and different time zones, our team members work as an effective, single unit with exacting detail, exceeding legislative standards and achieving industry best practice – as this recognition demonstrates,” he added.

As part of the award process, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific submitted a presentation for an AU$1,000 professional development grant to be utilised by the end of August. The team used it to hold a two-hour virtual team building activity for all 67 team members, which was designed to build rapport while improving problem solving skills and critical thinking. Six department leaders then made a 30-minute presentation to the AICM about how the funds were used and answered 45 minutes of questions from four judges.

The AICM National Credit Team of the Year Award is an Australian award enabling credit teams to demonstrate best practice, develop their presentation skills and connect as a team. Previous winners include brands like Woolworths, AGL, Caltex and Synergy. The Wyndham team also previously won the award in 2016, when known as Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific.

Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific is the largest timeshare development operation outside of North America and markets and sells vacation ownership interests, and provides consumer financing, to vacation owners in Club Wyndham South Pacific.

HUA HIN, THAILAND (OCTOBER, 2022): Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific has signed an agreement to manage the 194-key Blue Lotus Hua Hin – previously Evason Hua Hin under Six Senses – which will join the global portfolio of hospitality franchising leader Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as Wyndham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort & Villas.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,000 hotels across nearly 95 countries. Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific is the company’s preferred management partner in Thailand and currently oversees management of more than 70 hotels and resorts in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and Europe.

Wyndham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort & Villas

“The opening of Wyndham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort & Villas indicates the long-term potential we can develop in Thailand’s seaside resort cities. As travel demand continues to rebound strongly across the region, this reinforces our commitment to bring our globally recognized brands to our guests in the Asia Pacific. We are excited about our partnership with Wyndham Destinations because of their proven track record in executing day-to-day operations and delivering the excellent guest services for which the Wyndham brand is renowned.

“Set on a beautiful stretch of coastline, Pranburi – together with Hua Hin – developed into a resort destination by the mid-1920s. It later became a favorite with nobility, even serving as the full-time residence of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) earlier this century. Over the years, this region has drawn locals, the Thai people, and international visitors alike. We look forward to showing our guests what travelers find so captivating about this destination,” said Joon Aun Ooi, President Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

Wyndham is one of the upscale brands of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, and it is renowned for delivering guests comfortable stays with convenient features like smartly designed guest rooms and thoughtful amenities, including pools and fitness activities.

Positioned in Pranburi, close to Hua Hin, Wyndham Hua Hin features an incredible array of facilities, including four tennis courts; four courts for North American pastime pickleball; a skate park; archery range; beach volleyball courts; fitness room; children’s club and meeting rooms. The jewel in the resort’s crown is a massive lagoon pool more than 1,250 square metres in area and with a 47-metre lap lane. The resort is also home to Asia’s leading plant-based cooking school facility, which will be re-opened when COVID-19 restrictions are further eased.

“We are proud to have built a resort portfolio that includes some of the most beautiful holiday destinations in the Asia Pacific region and this destination of Pranburi represents another incredible addition,” said President and Managing Director, International Operations, Wyndham Destinations, Barry Robinson.

“It is an exciting opportunity to expand our management operations outside the well-known tourist centres of Bangkok and Phuket. The resort has excellent reviews online, including a rating of 9.1 on Agoda.com, and we look forward to seeing what we can do to raise the guest experience even further,” he added.

Wyndham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort & Villas

Set on a 20-acre former coconut plantation and surrounded by lush national parks, the resort offers expansive gardens to explore and a tranquil environment for relaxation. The property has approximately 550 square metres of conferencing and events space capable of being utilised for lectures, workshops, cocktail or banquet events, or boardroom-style meetings.

Accommodation ranges from studios and family suites with expansive private terraces, through to breathtaking 90 to 110 square metre villas, each with private plunge pool, sun lounges and large daybed within a private walled garden. PORT STEPHENS, NEW SOUTH WALES (28 SEPTEMBER, 2022) Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific has wrapped up an almost $3 million refurbishment of rooms and common areas at Ramada Resort by Wyndham Shoal Bay, located beachfront at Port Stephens.

The refurbishment, which was completed in stages between May and September, included retiling of the indoor and outdoor pools, a refreshed reception area and updating 56 studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, including standard, Grand, Deluxe and Presidential categories.

“We used the resort’s incredible position right on the beach and the vibrancy of the Shoal Bay community as inspiration for this refurbishment of the apartments and reception areas,” said Senior Vice President of Acquisitions, Procurement, Property Development and Technical Services, David Wray.

“As part of our refresh, the apartments were repainted and we replaced most of the furniture, bedding and window furnishings and replaced the flooring with high-quality vinyl in the living areas. We conduct these refurbishments on a cycle in order to continually raise the standard of our properties, improve the experience members and guests enjoy, and show our commitment to the Port Stephens region.”

Presidential apartment lounge/living area

Ramada Shoal Bay is a mixed-use property providing accommodation to both the general public and members of Club Wyndham South Pacific, one of Asia Pacific’s leading timeshare clubs. Adjacent is the independently owned Shoal Bay Country Club, iconic home of Mermaids Café, lunch and dinner restaurant The Kitchen & Patio and Greek restaurant Atmos, along with event spaces.

The property is one of Club Wyndham South Pacific’s most popular resorts, with the refurbished rooms enjoying an average occupancy of 92 per cent currently, and forecast to hit similar levels for the next eight months.

“The last two years have been challenging for projects like this but thanks to the great work of our property development team, our project contractors and the understanding of our members and guests, we have been able to finish this work on time and budget,” Mr Wray added.

This year, additional equipment has also been added to the onsite gym while new furniture was rolled out around the resort pools, including four cabanas, 65 sun loungers, bean bags and umbrellas. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of new furniture has also been installed in 53 hotel rooms available to the general public, with further updates forecast.

Grand apartment outlook

Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific’s sustainability credentials have been widely praised within the hospitality industry and they have guided this refurbishment. All quality furniture left after the project was donated to local non-profits and the mattresses were taken to Soft Landing for recycling, to reduce the impact on landfill.

Club Wyndham South Pacific apartments are updated according to a regular refurbishment schedule so they continue to look fresh and modern. They are principally used by the club’s members but can be accessed by the general public when members choose to exchange their vacation credits for accommodation elsewhere.

Gourmet temptations and perfectly grilled Australian and US steaks are returning at Riva Grill Bar & Terrace, at Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta

The Tomahawk steak

Jakarta, Indonesia (DECEMBER 16, 2021) The award-winning Riva Grill Bar & Terrace, a premier dining establishment situated at Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta, is reopening with a brand new menu as the local tourism and hospitality sectors begin to recover from COVID-19.

For years, the restaurant has been renowned for its Australian and US beef steaks, quality seafood and a mouth-watering selection of entrees. Continuing this focus on modern Western food – particularly steak – Riva has launched an expanded menu full of classic lunch and dinner options. Desserts are still made onsite with the utmost attention to detail by the restaurant’s pastry chef.

“Our mainstay, the “Tomahawk” steak, is a prominent part of this new menu. The “Tomahawk” is a top-of-the-line cut of rib beef with sharp flavour thanks to its marbled texture and intramuscular fat, while its 30 to 60-ounce size means it is big enough to share,” said Deden Gumilar, Culinary Director at Riva.

“One of the new highlights on our menu is a range of classic gourmet sandwiches. RIVA now serves the Classic Croque Monsieur, a baked layered sandwich with cooked ham, gruyere and parmesan cheese; the double decker Reuben Sandwich with corned beef, swiss cheese, gruyere and sauerkraut on brown bread; and Norwegian Salmon Panini, grilled bread stuffed with smoked salmon, onion and tomato jam, horseradish mayonnaise and cream cheese. We anticipate these will be popular and they represent excellent value for money.”

RIVA’s new menu will constantly evolve with Monthly Chef’s Signature dishes. In November/December, they include Duck Magret, the rich breast of a moulard duck in a mushroom barley risotto with grilled asparagus, berries and duck jus, and the Medallion of Norwegian Salmon, served with mashed peas, shimeji mushrooms, potato cake and hollandaise sauce.

The Norwegian Salmon Panini

The signature dessert at RIVA is the classic lava chocolate cake “Valrhona” served with fresh espresso gelato or the traditional Cointreau souffle and baked using a flaming rum technique. Other tantalising dessert dishes include the apple cobbler with rum raisin gelato, cherry clafoutis and pastries for two.

RIVA has also designed a new drinks list, featuring wines from renowned growing regions including France, USA, New Zealand, Australia and Chile, along with local vineyards in Indonesia. RIVA offers a range of classic cocktails along with a signature range designed by its team, including the Raulitaquila, which blends tequila, vodka, mint jelly, triple sec and orange sorbet. Signature Mocktails include Melon Grass, Casablanca Splash, Sweet Home Banana and Classic Mojito Iced Tea.

“Our new menu focuses on popular tastes, classic dishes and prime cuts of meat sourced from high quality producing areas like Australia and the United States, cooked to perfection. While the menu is ambitious, we have also worked hard to keep our food as affordable as possible,” said Chef Deden.

In addition to enjoying the new menu, guests can relax and enjoy live music every weekend. The updated website at riva.co.id provides event information, special promotions and information about RIVA.
